FAQ

Q. Can I extract text from scanned PDFs or images?

No. This tool parses selectable text layers directly. It does not support OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for scanned PDFs or flat image files where characters cannot be highlight-selected.

Q. Will the extracted text preserve layouts and line breaks?

We extract text sequential flows according to page metadata coordinate structures. Depending on how the PDF was compiled, multi-column articles or complex spacings might differ slightly in plain text.

Q. Are there restrictions on supported languages?

No. We support multi-language encodings. As long as correct font and character mapping tables are embedded in the PDF dictionary, Japanese, English, Chinese, European scripts, etc., will be correctly extracted.

Q. Are my uploaded files safe and secure?

None. The parser operates entirely via browser-side JavaScript within your machine. Your document contents and extracted text never reach our servers.

Q. Can I extract text from a password-secured PDF?

No. Secure files cannot be parsed directly. Please use our Unlock tool to strip security first, then upload.

Q. What formats can I export the extracted text into?

You can copy and paste the preview text directly from the textbox, or click the "Save as TXT" button to download a plaintext (.txt) file.

Q. Is there an account requirement or charge?

No. The platform requires no registration, signup, or subscriptions, and it is 100% free.

Q. What is the maximum file size?

The maximum allowable PDF file size is 100MB.

Q. Does this utility work on mobile devices?

Yes. Our responsive layouts work perfectly on mobile platforms including iOS Safari, Chrome on Android, and iPadOS.

Q. Will my original file be modified or overwritten?

No. The uploaded file is read-only. The platform processes the files in memory and downloads it as a brand new document.
